Quick illustrations for "Algae Alibi", 2026
Quick illustrations inspired by the description of the game " Algae Alibi", a project which is currently in progress. "Algae Alibi" is a Role Playing Game by the Algae Foundation and for which I am currently working on as an illustrator. As an ex-scientist and artist, I was very inspired by this project and decided to illustrate some ideas specifically for this game and universe. I wanted to create a lab setting with teenage or young scientists so I can showcase a few different character designs, equipment and different objects. I maintained a blue and green colour palette and a "clean look". Since these illustrations were created in a limited amount of time, the details and layers are limited.

Custom Algae Stickers for the Young Algaeneers Symposium (YAS) participants in 2026. I created six designs inspired by: 1) Anabaena 2) Palmaria palmata 3) Spirulina 4) Saccharina latissima 5) Diatoms 6) Scenedesmus
The designs were also printed on mugs that were gifted to the speakers.

Marina is a Greek illustrator based in Wageningen with a deep passion for painting and nature. After transitioning from biology to full-time illustration, she now brings scientific concepts to life, using her art to make science more visual and accessible. Her work is heavily inspired by her scientific background, as well as her love for animals and the natural world.
